The number of foreign tourists visiting Mongolia reached 208,028 in the first four months of 2026. This represents an increase of 35 percent, or 54,260 more tourists, compared to the same period in 2025.
Based on monthly data, the flow of tourists has been gradually increasing, with the highest figure recorded in April. Specifically, 64,597 tourists arrived in Mongolia in April 2026, marking a 26 percent increase compared to the same month of the previous year.
The rise in tourist arrivals is attributed to the beginning of the spring season and the revival of tourism activity. Factors such as increased flight frequency and improved border crossing capacity have also contributed to this growth. Looking ahead, as the peak summer tourism season approaches, the number of tourists is expected to continue rising. This has created a need for tourism-related organizations to ensure preparedness in terms of services and infrastructure.
